’87 JJ ULTIMA REPLICA 60th Anniversary Limited
History & Significance
Commemorates Joel Johnson’s win at the 1987 IFMAR World Championship in the 1:10 2WD Buggy class — the first world championship win for a Kyosho machine. This specific “JJ Spec” livery and configuration did not exist as a retail kit in 1987; this is a modern recreation built to honour that championship result, released as the 13th model in Kyosho’s Vintage Series for the company’s 60th anniversary.
Chassis Engineering
A 2WD racing buggy based on the Ultima/Tomahawk-era platform, sharing its body with the Tomahawk 2WD buggy. Features a gunmetal-anodised aluminium motor guard laser-etched with the 60th-anniversary logo, exclusive to this edition, and recreates the JJ Spec’s custom suspension, chassis, and shock-stay geometry along with period-style side mirrors.
Variants & Re-releases
A standalone 60th-anniversary recreation with no prior retail release under the “JJ” spec — this configuration never shipped commercially in 1987, so there is no earlier kit number this is a re-release of.
